  Shopping here is a downer because one never knows the mood of the owner, and that mood affects the service of the underlings. The store has great products, so if one doesn't need much assistance from the staff, the sales are attractive and one can find what they want. The owner is defensive, marginally friendly, and probably and understandably just burned out from sheer hard work.

  A great local outfitter with wide variety of clothing, footwear, hiking gear, and t-shirts. A lot of high quality gear crammed into a relatively small store. Plus can always find older, discounted clothing tucked away in the corners. Also: the best selection of ball caps I've seen anywhere. Plus: stickers and decals galore. . Friendly and knowledgeable staff. If you're in Black Mountain, this is a must stop!
